BREAK SOME RULES
Walking home I arrived at an intersection cross walk. The red hand was up telling me not to walk but as I looked up and down the street there was not a single car insight. So, I did the unthinkable, I ignored the warning of the hand and crossed the street. I was surprised to get to the other side and find two ladies waiting patiently for the sign to change and give them permission to cross the desolate street on this sleepy Saturday morning.
After being called out for breaking some rule, Jesus told the Pharisees (legalists of his time) that “The Sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbath. I am not advocating for anarchy or ignoring important rules or laws. I am however suggesting that circumstances should be considered when determining whether the rule applies in this situation at this time. If not, cross the street with confidence.
Question: What ridiculous rules do you have at your company that should be eliminated or adjusted?
